I am a BACP accredited and registered counsellor, and have built up more than 2,500 client hours since qualifying in 2006. My experience was gained in the Private, Public and Voluntary sectors (EAP, NHS and Sure Start respectively).

My counselling qualifications include a BA Honours degree in applied counselling practice, a Higher Diploma and a Higher National Certificate in Counselling. You can see my profile with the BACP’s website by clicking here.

Counselling Work History

2013 to Present - Private Practice

- Counselling adults and some young people for long or short term support taking referrals from this this site, the BACP, or by recommendations.

- I won the contract to run counselling services for Calderdale Parents & Carers, a local voluntary organisation that supports the parents of children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs

- Provider of counselling several Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Services. Short term and solution focused counselling to help people in work come to terms with issues impacting on their personal, social and working lives.

2006 to 2013 - Calderdale Sure Start - counselling adults and young people, plus groupwork with young people. This was community-based service which helped parents to deal with issues impacting on family and personal life. This service was closed in September 2013.

2006 to 2010 - Calderdale Substance Misuse Service (NHS) - individual counselling and groupwork with adults to support recovery from addictions and harmful behaviours. This service was closed in 2010.

2005 to 2006 Calderdale Youth Service - counselling young people in school settings to help young people find their own solutions to to everyday problems. This service was closed in March 2006.
